How to measure your inseam (suggested by Greg LeMond, a former professional road cyclist)

To find out your recommended bike size, you first need to measure your inseam. What’s inseam? It’s a length from the floor to your crotch. Follow these steps to measure it properly:

  • Stand close to a wall, your feet should be 6-8" (15-20 cm) apart.
  • Place a hardcover book between your legs to imitate the bike saddle.
  • Note where the book touches the wall.
  • Measure the distance from that point to the floor.
  • That's your inseam.

Now identify your frame size with our bike size calculator!
